The person behind Equanimity
Meet Ian Charlesworth
I’m Ian, the person behind Equanimity Hypnotherapy. I offer face-to-face and online hypnotherapy, with an approach that starts with you and what you would like to change.
Perhaps you have been thinking about asking for help for a while. Perhaps this is the first time you have considered hypnotherapy. Either way, you are welcome to ask how I work before deciding whether to arrange a session.

“Two people may come with a similar concern and want quite different things from their sessions.”
Starting with you
An approach shaped around you
Person-centred hypnotherapy means taking your own circumstances and goals as the starting point. Two people may come with a similar concern and want quite different things from their sessions.
We begin by talking about what has brought you here. That conversation helps us decide what to focus on and gives you a chance to understand the approach, rather than feeling you need to arrive already knowing what to ask for.
What matters in our sessions
I want you to understand what a session involves. There is time at the beginning to discuss your goals, ask questions and talk through the process. Hypnosis is a guided experience in which you retain control.
My focus is on the person in front of me: the concern you want to work on, the changes you hope to make and whether the service is a suitable fit.
Training & registration
My training
I hold a Diploma in Hypnotherapy, trained with Hampshire School of Hypnotherapy and am registered with the General Hypnotherapy Register (GHR).
If you would like to know more about my qualifications or the methods that may be relevant to your session, please ask.
